Three Emmy Nominations!

All too often, we get caught up in telling the stories of our nonprofit partners and we forget to share our wins! We’re currently nominated for three Midsouth Regional Emmys from 2022. Since 2016 we’ve received a total of 14 Emmy nominations and 4 Emmy Awards. It’s an honor to be recognized by our peers regionally and share the recognition with such a talented and committed team over the years. Learn about the nominated projects below and watch them for yourself, and tune into the awards ceremony on Saturday, February 25th to see if we win!

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT CAMPAIGN:

Stories of Hope – Midsouth Transplant, Forever Ready Productions, Lauren Ready, Jon Quinn

Truthfully, this project involved nearly everyone on our Memphis team, including Katey Perkins and Mary Gunning. We produced three PSA commercials for the Mid-South Transplant Foundation. A quick and somewhat budget-conscientious project gave us about an hour on location with each story. We wanted to showcase the story of people impacted by organ and tissue donation. We interviewed three recipients and one family member of a loved one who died. All three stories showcase the impact and gift of donation. You can watch one of the stories above and read about the impact here! Most importantly, this campaign helped increase organ and tissue donations by 25%. The videos help spark conversation among family and friends about something that is often hard to talk about.

COMMERCIAL – SINGLE SPOT:

Specializing In Tomorrows , Forever Ready Productions, Lauren Ready, Kelly Josephsen

This project was in collaboration with one of our longest-standing clients, Regional One Health. They were in the process of beginning a new branding campaign called “Specializing in Tomorrows” and needed a commercial to go along with the campaign. We started with an idea, turned it into a script and pulled elements from so many of the previous patient stories we’d produced for them. The end product was so well received that it hit record engagement on their YouTube and social media channels, as well as reframed the general feeling of why people are treated at the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center.

DIRECTOR – SHORT FORM CONTENT:

Responding to Crisis at Elvis Presley Trauma Center | Regional One Health, Forever Ready Productions, Lauren Ready

Keeping with the theme of healthcare stories, this piece hit close to home for anyone living in the Memphis area. So often we hear about mass shootings in other communities and think “this could never happen in mine!” but that reality is all too familar to us when it actually does happen. The day of the Collierville Kroger mass shooting, I was actually out of town. My heart sank as I checked-in with my family and friends, hoping they weren’t there when it happened. But I also found peace and comfort in knowing that Regional One Health staff and doctors had (sadly but truthfully) trained for this kind of event. They sprung into action and were prepared to serve the influx of trauma patients who’d need their lifesaving care. As the 2022 One Night Gala approached, we wanted to find a tasteful way to tell the story of the lifesaving work that happens behind closed doors. So we embedded in the trauma department for an evening and then sat down with staff who were working the day of the Collierville mass shooting. Striking a balance of true care for the stories of patients treated and the training and preparation doctors and nurses had for that day was a challenge. We vowed not to be sensational but also to be truthful. And it was important to hear directly from the folks on the front lines of the event. The piece played in the room at their gala with audible reaction from the crowd as they recalled what happened that day and the days that followed, inside the hospital and out. This piece was one of the most rewarding things the team has worked on. All hands on deck as we worked with Allison Wong and Charlie Grant to shoot video inside the trauma center overnight. And the Memphis crew conducted interviews with everyone who was involved the day of the shooting. Together with Katey Perkins and Mary Gunning, we edited a piece that struck a cord and honored all those involved. This nomination is dedicated to them!

The 37th Midsouth Regional Emmy® Awards will be presented Saturday, February 25, 2023, 6 PM Central. You can watch the virtual ceremony here.
