Emmys, Collaboration & More!

Spring has sprung! And we’re feeling it here at Forever Ready Productions. The new season brings all kinds of exciting news.

EMMY AWARD WINNING - AGAIN!

Last month we won our fourth Midsouth Regional Emmy for our work with Wolf River Conservancy. The entertainment piece, Arts on the Greenway, was produced as a part of the 2020 Greenway Soiree. In lieu of gathering in person, we helped Wolf River Conservancy fulfill a long time dream of showcasing the arts on their greenway. The piece featured performances from New Ballet Ensemble & School, Opera Memphis, and STAX Junior Academy. It’s always an honor to be recognized by our peers for our work. I want to thank my team, past and present, and the staff at Wolf River Conservancy for trusting us with their vision and collaborating to make it all come to life.

COMPLETE STREETS

Collaboration is a core value here at Forever Ready Productions and we saw that lived out in its truest form in December and January. The perfect project unfolded for us when Smart Growth America needed a video series produced in a short amount of time. Have no fear! Our journalistic approach and ability to break down complex topics made this collaboration a perfect fit! In December and January, our Memphis team traveled to Pittsburgh and Tucson and our Chicago team traveled to Louisville. Each crew was tasked with sharing how the local government collaborated with community organizations and activists to form a complete streets policy. The goal was to inspire other cities to adopt a Complete Streets Policy and make streets safer for all.

Over the course of eight weeks we shot and edited three short documentaries. Each city has its own unique story and is on its own journey to roll out Complete Streets. You can watch the series here:

Tucson - Not just a way to get from A to B
Louisville - No matter what part of town
Pittsburgh - Complete Streets are vital

We’re proud of this project because it was a collaboration across several national nonprofits and all of our team. It’s an example of how we can work together, quickly, to tell a complex story.

NEW STAFF

We’ve got some new faces here at Forever Ready Productions, And I’d like to introduce you to one of our newest members. Katey Perkins joined Forever Ready Productions in February as Video Producer. She comes to us with a wide range of on-location and on-set experience, but it was her passion and heart for our work that led her to Forever Ready.

She has produced a little bit of everything, from scripted narrative commercials for national campaigns to docu-style pieces for local nonprofits and everything in between. She loves working with clients directly to make their vision come to life. You can also find her behind a camera too! She has an eye for finding and capturing simple and important moments.

WRIGHT VIRTUAL VISITS

The Forever Ready Productions Chicago office is sponsoring the online video series “Wright Virtual Visits”.

The series began in 2020 when public Frank Lloyd Wright sites had to close due to the pandemic. Each month, two or more sites are paired and go LIVE on Facebook, focusing on a certain theme. Viewers are encouraged to share photos related to the theme, and there is also an interactive Q&A in each episode. The series is led by the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy, Unity Temple Restoration Foundation, Graycliff Conservancy, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

Even though people are beginning to host in-person events again, this is a good example of how virtual events are still relevant. In the case of the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy, staff noticed their programming was viewed across the country (in some cases, the world!). That’s a really unique opportunity that nonprofits can still take advantage of. And with our help, it’s relatively easy! We take care of the production, so you can focus on the content and your mission.

Check out the next Wright Virtual Visits episode on Thursday, April 14th. It can be viewed on the Wright Virtual Visits Facebook page.

And if you need help with livestreaming, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to help bring your next event to life!
