Emmy Nominations Spotlight Creativity in COVID

In an effort not to bury the lede…The Forever Ready Productions team is nominated for three Midsouth Regional Emmys.

On Monday, November 29th, the academy announced nominees. The entries were judged by peer professionals from NATAS Chapters of Boston/New England, Chicago/Midwest, Michigan, Suncoast, Rocky Mountain Southwest and Upper Midwest.

Our first nomination is in the category of Entertainment for a piece titled Arts On The Greenway. It’s a piece we put together in 2020, during the peak of COVID cases in our community. The Wolf River Greenway’s annual Soiree went digital and it presented an new opportunity to showcase arts on the beautiful Greenway that spans across the city and county. The piece features performances from New Ballet Ensemble and School, STAX Junior Academy, and Opera Memphis. You can view the entire performance here.

The second nomination is in the category of Branded Content for a documentary we shot with Regional One Health titled Grit Through Covid. The piece features voices from inside the hospital during the pandemic. It’s a unique perspective hearing how the entire staff made sacrifices, worked together and served everyone with dignity. The piece was produced in collaboration with the Regional One Health Foundation and Allison Vance, chief of staff.

Finally, Lauren Ready received a nomination in the Director - Short Form category for her work with Regional One Health’s Write Your Own Story campaign for National Women’s Month. The series featured stories of women working in healthcare; spotlight how they followed their dreams, over came obstacles and now inspire others to follow in their foot steps.

Each of these nominations feature stories that showcase how we got creative during Covid. Taking advantage of some challenging circumstances to think beyond our typical storytelling. Seeing and hearing from people you don’t normally hear from.

We are grateful to have such wonderful partners who trust us and work together with us to tell the best stories possible. It’s always an honor when your peers recognize your work too.

Here’s to another great year of stories. And to taking a moment to stop and celebrate the victories too!!
