Conservation is a complex topic that can often be hard to show. That’s why the Wolf River Conservancy came to us to help them create a video that shows the work its doing to preserve the Wolf River Greenway in the Memphis area.
Listen to the full Interview with Chief Development Officer Kelsey Gibbs about how Forever Ready’s work resulted in a record-setting fundraising total at the annual gala.
Case Study: Wolf River Conservancy
When Wolf River Conservancy came to Forever Ready Productions for a video project, they had a challenge; tell the story of an organization doing work that’s visual, but also very abstract and complicated.
“Video has been an integral part of getting a large group to see what we do,” said
Former Chief Development Officer Kelsey Gibbs. “And really show the strategic lands that we’re protecting or show the new sections of the Greenway that we’re opening.”
In a room full of more than 300 people, we took gala participants on a journey through the land that’s been conserved. With the help of people who use the spaces, we explained just how much these nature-filled lands help make our communities safer, healthier and more vibrant.
Gibbs said, “the video really was a great call to action. And encouraged donors, and put a little pressure off our emcee to share the story. It was an unprecedented amount that we raised, we’ve never gotten to six figures in our fund-a-need program before.”
Gibbs also worked with large donors and supporters to help cultivate giving in the room that night. The appeal and social media presence after the event also supported the theme and needs of their ask.
“So much energy and momentum is built in that room. If people see other hands go up at certain donation levels it may encourage others to do the same. And I think the video really weaves and is in tandem with the message and theme that night.”
